A educating assistant has died after being stabbed by a scholar outdoors a faculty in Nogent, north-east France, officers say.
The 31-year-old educating assistant was stabbed on Tuesday morning outdoors Françoise Dolto center faculty as pupils’ baggage have been being checked by police, the Haute-Marne prefecture mentioned.
French media reported a suspect had been taken into custody, with Prime Minister François Bayrou saying the coed was 14 years outdated.
French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned the educating assistant was a “victim of a senseless wave of violence” and declared that “the nation is in mourning”.
Politicians throughout events condemned the assault and referred to as for extra motion towards knife crime.
The suspect was not previously recognized to police and the motive for the assault stays unconfirmed, native media reported.
Bayrou and French Training Minister Elisabeth Borne mentioned the educating assistant was stabbed by a scholar.
